School Holiday Tips
The school holidays are a great opportunity to get ahead. There are many tasks you can do to improve the general running of your home and life. Work through this list each school holidays and see the results!
- Take kids to the hairdresser for a haircut
- Empty school bags and mend any tears
- Wash and air lunchboxes, drink bottles and school bags
- Wash and air school shoes
- Polish school shoes if applicable
- Mend school uniforms if applicable. Rehem if applicable. Does their school socks need mending or have they outgrown them? Have their outgrown their uniform?
- Ensure name tags are on school uniforms, lunchboxes, drink bottles and school bags. Replace if necessary.
- Sort through family clothes. Donate or recycle clothes that no longer fit.
- Defrost freezer if necessary.
- Clean their pencil case (empty pencil shavings etc)
- Have the kids sharpen their school pencils
- Reassess what new stationery they need for next term. What has been used up.
- Does their school hats still fit them? Do they need cleaning?
- Do you have enough sunscreen for next term or has it gone past it's use by date?
- Reassess what food came home uneaten in their lunchboxes. Should you modify your lunchbox meal planner?
- Bake for school lunchboxes. Muffins, slices or cakes. Cut and wrap in gladwrap and pop in the freezer for an easy grab in the mornings.
